Following the successful ULAF+ product philosophy, the ACCEED EFM family has been designed to be fully compatible with the installed ULAF+ base preserving customer investment and pave the way for successful migration to Carrier Ethernet services.

ACCEED 2202 features EFM-F full Gigabit line rate performance. Two MSA compliant SFP slots allow the use of a wide range of SFP modules supporting several options such as: different transmission distances, two fiber and single fiber also supporting EFM BX standards. ACCEED 2202 supports the implementation of protected services using link aggregation over redundant links with a switchover time lower than 50ms.

Traffic aware switching with extended flow management allows providers to address the emerging market of premium voice and data services over Ethernet. ACCEED 2202 features a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with up to 3 Ethernet UNI ports per unit supporting:

• E-Line, E-LAN and E-Tree services according to MEF 9 and 14
• per flow bandwidth profiles according to MEF10

For clock sensitive applications like mobile base station backhaul, synchronization is very important. ACCEED 2202 offers several methods to provide an accurate clock signal to every customer location:

• Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE1588v2 deliver accurate timing over packet based networks
• 2MHz clock in - and output allow to connect to legacy BITS (Building Integrated Timing Supply)
• Automatic selection of the best available clock source, based on SSM (Synchronization Status Message)
• 2MHz - > SyncE conversion and vice versa

The ACCEED 2202 is available as plug-in for the ULAF+ Subrack and Compact Shelf or as desktop unit. ACCEED 2202 fits in any locations: central offices, customer premises, street cabinets and many others.

ACCEED 2202 is managed by the ULAF+ craft terminal (LCT+) locally or remotely using a TCP connection. Embedded SNMP agent provides easy management integration. The AccessIntegrator (AcI) management system allows permanent supervision of the entire network and integration into umbrella management systems via SNMP or CORBA Northbound interface. Management access is possible using an in-band connection (with management VLAN option) or a dedicated NMS port. Using EFM-OAM, a LT to NT link can be managed as single network element providing quick supervision and control of the entire link. © Albis
